sculpture:squares - Open spaces for the three-dimensional
Two decades ago, Ewald Karl Schrade, the founding curator of art karlsruhe, invented the sculpture squares and generously planned them in between the exhibitors' stands, so that free spaces and at the same time sculptural surprises keep appearing as you walk through the landscape of booths.
We would like to retain the sculpture:squares as one of the most successful, distinctive and integral elements of art karlsruhe in any case. At the same time, we want to emphasise the special qualities of this section even more. We would like the sculpture:squares to be understood as statements on individual artistic positions and not as a simple extension of the presentation space of the galleries.
sculpture:spots - presentation of individual sculptures
«We want to offer these spots to galleries that want to present three-dimensional artworks to their customers and need suitable presentation areas outside of their booths.»
